How the pricing works
Seedance 2.0 is priced per second by resolution on ByteDance's Volcengine API: about $0.065 per second at 480p and $0.14 per second at 720p. It's also available through aggregators like fal.ai and inside Runway's paid plans. The model ranks in the top five on quality benchmarks and generates 1080p-class output with notably smooth motion, usually in under a minute of wall-clock time.
What the pricing page doesn't tell you
The 480p tier is the hidden gem for iteration: draft at $0.065/s, then re-render only the keepers at higher resolution. Aggregator pricing can differ from Volcengine direct — compare before committing a pipeline.
And the universal one: retakes. Budget every rate above at ×1.5 to ×3 depending on how demanding your shots are — that multiplier, not the sticker price, decides your real bill.
Best for
Cost-efficient drafting and B-roll where motion smoothness matters more than resolution.
